Institute for Black Liberation

The Institute for Black Liberation is a community training and healing program sponsored by the Deaconess Foundation. “Participants of the Institute develop a liberatory consciousness through healing the hurts of internalized racism” in Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois. The Deaconess Foundation is committed to applying this program to 100 cohorts with a goal of liberation within 7 generations. The RID Lab team supported the research development and evaluation for the first cohort of participants.
